The Day Has Come.......
for my son to ship off to San Diego. The time went by so fast and I truly wasn't ready. This was such a hard day and it's been an even harder week! He was getting pretty nervous in the airport. I'm just glad we were there for part of it. Four other boys were shipping out too, and not one kid had someone there to see them off. I can't imagine not being there. That tugged at my heart. I gave each one of those boys a hug and told them to take care and that I would be thinking of them. One boy was having second thoughts and I truly was hoping that Kenneth would tell me to take him home. Yes, I know...selfish you might say, but this is my son and i'm not ready to let go, because I know where this will take him. Iraq...I voted for the war, I still think we are doing a good job over there, but I don't want my son there. Yep, I said it, i've been saying it and i'm not afraid to say it. That's how I feel. Anyways, i've yet to get that call home and it's now Wednesday. He was kind enough to call me from a pay phone in the San Diego airport, so I at least got that. I'll stop for now. Enjoy......

Kenneth's farewell party in Cascade, Idaho
The entire family got together at a cabin on the lake in Cascade, Idaho. We haven't all been together in a very long time. Most were getting to stay for a week, but our family had to make a weekend out of it. Kenneth had to ship out on Monday. The weekend was filled with laughs, spirits, crashes, fun and tears!
Kayla's beau Paul....we know what was said to get this smile:)

Golf Night
Kenneth, Kali and I went golfing before he left. Kali and him golfed, but I took pictures. Kali was a trooper and golfed most of the 9 holes.
Kali liked Bubba's shot above and wanted one. Well, I only got the dirt after she hit it!

The Zoo
So Grandma and I took Kali to the zoo last week. Of course, most of the animals weren't anywhere to be seen, story of my life! Besides the sweat dripping everywhere it was a fun day!
Grandma took these pictures:
I'm telling you, that smile melts my heart!
Going for a ride......Look at that creature behind her.....

Swim Lessons-Week One
Well, this is Miss Kali's first year of swim lessons. When I first told her she was going to be going she wasn't that thrilled about it. Now that she's there she is loving it! She will finish up this week.
Here she's practicing her back float. Notice her chin area. Doesn't like to put her head all the way back.
Here they were practicing their spider crawl to the other end of the poo. Once they get to the depth number they have to go underwater. When they get to a jet they have to kick 5 times. This goes for on the way back too! She's just getting ready to go under.......
......she made it! All the way too!
Here she is just coming up from her bobs at the beginning of the lessons.
Look at that smile!
Here she is on safety day, learning the rules!
Such concentration!
Her momma loves her:)

4th of July
So the family loaded up two cars and headed to the mountains. We drove out by the ranch to start off our trip. Then we headed to McCall where we had a nice late lunch at Lardo's. We then headed to the beach and the weather could have been better. It was a bit cool to be swimming, but the kids all went in for a bit. We decided that we liked being right there where they were loading the fireworks, so we parked it until the evening. We did walk around town and stopped at the chocolate factory and ate ice cream at Ice Cream Ally. I have to say that the fireworks were so good where we were at. I was very impressed!
Probably don't have to say much here. The picture speaks for itself!
Love those American Flags!
They are loading the fireworks!
This little gal and Kali struck up a friendship. They were the firework cheerleaders, and yes, they started cheers wanting the fireworks.
HAHAHA....so, she didn't bring a blanket to sit on. The younger couples had one, so she improvised. Miss smarty pants!
Awwww...isn't she purty?
Do you like Alfalfa's hair, I mean Kenneth's? Paul managed a back flip off the dock. Kenneth....well, he chickened out!
Awwww...what a CUTE couple!
Bubba and the little one getting use to the water.
This was a group effort. They all decided to help Kali out.
Yes, these are the gangster couples! They look pretty dang good if you ask me:)
Kayla and Paul having some fun!
Cori and Kenneth freezing as well!
Bubba decided he would help his big sis get out into the deep end. She didn't want any part of it. He was nice and took her back!
Here's Miss Kali shivering!
