All blogged out.......

WHEW! That was enough for one night! Come back soon! I have holiday pictures to post.

Halloween

So I was suppose to make this clown costume, my own non-scary, non-traditional type clown costume, with a full skirt and corset. However, those plans changed while at boot camp graduation. While shopping for some of Kenneth's items needed he ran across a little Marine outfit. Yep, that was it....no more clown costume for me! Maybe next year.

Sophi got into the action as well, however she didn't want her picture taken.

OOPS! Next picture should be before this one. Well, you get the picture! HAHAHA

Celebrating Kenneth's graduation and Kayla's 21st birthday

Here we are in Los Angeles at Bubba Gumps, one of our favorite restaraunts celebrating a graduation and a birthday. They treated the two with ice cream a song and yes a dance. The kids had to dance, not the staff! Kayla's friend Drea (whom she met while living in CA) attended with us.

This is them either after or before dancing with each other!

After Boot Camp Adventure....

Just a few pictures of our adventures at Sea World and Universal Studios
Gosh, someone feed these kids....they're trying to eat Nemo!

Yes, he's my hero as well as Sea World's

Kenneth was picked to be in a special effects show at Universal Studios

Marine Corps Boot Camp Graduation Day

The day we can take Kenneth home! Felt like forever, but we did it. Oh, the pictures are in the right order this time.

The line of sea bags waiting for graduated Marines to come get them and leave the base! Let me tell you, that's what the Marine's wanted too!

Parade of Colors: Marching onto the parade deck

Look at all of those graduates! Over 600 hundred Marines. Can you believe that many graduate every week? WOW! Kenneth is in the first platoon way down there. Can you find him? LOL

Look at my handsome boy.....I mean Marine! Love that kid!

Family Day: Part 2

Here's some more from family day: Yep, you guessed it, start at the bottom. Why change it now?
Grandma standing at attention with Kenneth

Kayla and her brother

Kali marching next to her Bubba. She didn't want to let go of him!

Marine Corps Boot Camp Graduation-Family Day

Today was the day we were looking forward to for a long time! My pictures are backwards so when you read this start at the bottom. Too lazy to delete them and start over!

This is Liberty Formation: they've showered and gotten into their uniforms and march out to the parade deck to get released. You can see him to the left/bottom of the flag.

Standing at attention and listening to the speaker

After the liberty run we move to a different area and the recruits finish their 5 mile run (I believe that's what it was), then they run into this spot we are standing in and we listen to a drill instructor for a bit then the recruits are released to go back to barracks and shower. This is him running to their assigned spot. Again, we got into the perfect spot!

Talk about lucky! We found our spot behind Kenneth's platoon number and waited for the moto run. I had to warn Kali if she by chance saw her brother NOT to run to him because he could still get into trouble. Well, here they came, the crowd is screaming, the tears are flowing and yep.........he stopped right in front of us! He's behind the guy in the middle row. We were crying and screaming that we loved him. Kali's trying to get somewhere where she could see his face, i'm sure it was hard for him but he did a great job focusing because we weren't making it easy!

Our first night in San Diego. Grandma was the only one Kali could talk into swimming!

Boise State Game

This year we were only able to attend one BSU game, but hey, it's better than none!

Kali turns 6.......

Kali turned 6 this past Sept. so yes, that means i'm behind on my blogging again! She had a great birthday, it stopped raining long enough for her to meet her friends at the park and play for a bit. We then went back home for a family dinner. I can't believe she's six already. Where does the time go?

Haven't Been On In A While...

Well, I haven't been on in a while. It's been a crazy few weeks since Kenneth has left. I've been trying to send a letter every day or every other day. Sometimes it works, other times it doesn't. Kali has started school and will start clogging this week. We've been staying busy by going to football and volleyball games. Trying to support Cori as well as a good reason to get out of the house. Kayla has had a rough summer. She contracted a staph infection and has been in and out of the doctors for that. She's on her 4th blister. She also had a biopsy done this past week. We are hopeful everything will be okay with that. My sweetie has been poked, prodded and sliced so much these last few weeks. We are all anxious for her to get better.

Kenneth graduates on the 24th from boot camp. We are so excited to see him! Us girls are fighting over who gets to hug him first. I'm giving up my spot for his little sister. This has been a hard time for her and she is so anxious to see him. She makes a wish to a star every time she see's one to please hurry and bring her bubba home. I'm sure I can wait a few minutes for my hug and kiss.

We will be staying for a couple of days after graduation. We are going to go to Sea World and Universal Studios. Can't wait!

For Kenneth

Kenneth has requested a lot of pictures and letters. I ran and shot a few and then printed and sent them right to him, well, after I painted the sign. For all the family and friends out of town. If interested do something such as this and send it to him. Think about some signs around your town or take a picture in front of something you think would be interesting to him. Don't send big pictures. They don't have a whole lot of room. You could print them, say, below your letter on the paper.

Where Has The Summer Gone?

That's what I'd like to know! Kali will be back to school for orientation on the 20th and full day the next Monday. I can't believe the time is here. However, I am looking forward to attending volleyball games and cheering for Kenneth's girlfriend Cori. I'm also ready for football! I'm hoping that these will keep me busy and the time will go by faster than it has.

Kenneth will only be gone 3 weeks on Monday the 18th. It's not going by fast enough! I have finally gotten some letters from him and he's so homesick. It breaks my heart to read his letters. I miss him so much!

Kayla's been busy working. Her and Paul came and spent a weekend. We went and watched "Momma Mia"......hahahaha, poor Paul. He thinks we set him up! Anyways, what a great movie!

The Day Has Come.......

for my son to ship off to San Diego. The time went by so fast and I truly wasn't ready. This was such a hard day and it's been an even harder week! He was getting pretty nervous in the airport. I'm just glad we were there for part of it. Four other boys were shipping out too, and not one kid had someone there to see them off. I can't imagine not being there. That tugged at my heart. I gave each one of those boys a hug and told them to take care and that I would be thinking of them. One boy was having second thoughts and I truly was hoping that Kenneth would tell me to take him home. Yes, I know...selfish you might say, but this is my son and i'm not ready to let go, because I know where this will take him. Iraq...I voted for the war, I still think we are doing a good job over there, but I don't want my son there. Yep, I said it, i've been saying it and i'm not afraid to say it. That's how I feel. Anyways, i've yet to get that call home and it's now Wednesday. He was kind enough to call me from a pay phone in the San Diego airport, so I at least got that. I'll stop for now. Enjoy......

Kenneth's farewell party in Cascade, Idaho

The entire family got together at a cabin on the lake in Cascade, Idaho. We haven't all been together in a very long time. Most were getting to stay for a week, but our family had to make a weekend out of it. Kenneth had to ship out on Monday. The weekend was filled with laughs, spirits, crashes, fun and tears!
