McCall Winter Carnival 2009

Kayla, Kali and I rode up to McCall with Sherrie and Cori on a fabric run, LOL! I had found out that my grandma was up for "Lady of the Lake" and ended up winning. That meant she would be in the parade. We watched that and included lunch on our trip. Here are some pictures of the parade:
Kali waiting patiently for it to start

Kali has spotted great grandma and is running to her

Kali and great grandma posing. Kali ended up walking the rest of the parade with great grandma......and she made Kayla go too! HAHA!

Making my own statement to the float below. Thanks to Dee Dee for the help! Sorry, my democratic friends....just the way I feel!

This float was cool! It was a front end loader I believe so the head moved and the mouth opened. Very creative!

And here is my cute niece Emali, it was a surprise to see her. She was in this vehicle that was pulling a float.

I took this out my back door at 6:15 PM last night (January 29, 2009). I added an action to it so the colors would pop. Yes, there is still too damn much snow in our back yard!

Kali's report card

Kali got a fantastic report card! I'm very proud of her. She received all "O's" (outstanding), their target for counting at this stage in kindergarten is in the 30's and she counted to 99 (they actually stopped her here, lol). The picture below is her Idaho Reading Indicator Assessment. I had a nice personal not about this. She is at a level 3, which is the highest level and the picture says the rest!

Kenneth

Just an update on Kenneth. He returned to Camp Pendleton on January 6th and had his MRI on the 7th. He was given the okay to leave on the 8th and didn't hesitate. He was very relieved to get out of there. He picked up classes on the 22nd and has had a test a day or every other day. He's passed everything so far! There has been a lot of studying and study nights. We are very proud of him! The girls are planning a road trip over spring break to see him. Included will be: Kali and I, Sherrie and Cori (Kenney's girlfriend and her mom). We are hoping that Kayla and Sara (Cori's sister) will be able to make it as well.

Kali's Christmas Concert

Kali had her Christmas concert and Kenneth flew in the day before. She was so excited to have him there. I swear they sang about 20 songs, not exaggerating! Kali got to be an angel in one of the songs. It's so cute when they start singing and add in a bit of acting.

Kali visits Santa

Kali went and visited with Santa. I got pulled away by his elves asking about Kenneth. She sat right up there and talked, got herself a candy cane and was excited that Santa knew her brother and asked about him (he also got a candy cane). As we were leaving Santa pulled me over and told me that all she wanted was her brother to come home. He promised her as we left that he would bring her to him. I'm glad Kenneth got to come home. I was planning a trip to "the North Pole" to have a talk with Santa. I'd a had one upset girl if her wish hadn't come true.

2008 Christmas Picture Shoot

I managed to get the kids together for some pictures while Kenneth was home. We were running out of light, but we had fun.

Okay, so there is a long story behind this picture and I actually have several. I won't let you in on what happened and what was said, the picture say's it all! Kayla had tears running down her face, Kenneth wouldn't stop (yes, he's the one that started it all), and Kali, well....she doesn't really know what's going on she's just ready for the pictures to be done!

I call this my, "look who's being naughty and look who's being nice" picture

Kenneth's Thanksgiving

Kenneth and I have the pleasure of meeting some great friends through the Marine Corps. He wasn't able to come home for Thanksgiving so one of his best friends from boot camp invited him and their other friend to tag along for their weekend. Jan (Eli's mom) was driving down to Camp Pendleton and picking the boys up and taking them to San Diego for their time off. She treated them so well. They got to go to the zoo, a nice Thanksgiving dinner and did some serious bonding. These are some pictures passed along to me.

The boys took turns shaving each others heads

Showing some of their moves

The boys look really happy here huh? They are heading back to Camp Pendleton.

Kali's Show and Tell

While Kenneth was on leave after boot camp Kali wanted to take him to school for "show and tell." He went with me on the day I volunteer and helped out with centers. I took a class picture of them with him to hang on their wall along with his address in Texas. They are going to write him throughout the school year.
